Training Approach:
For jointly trained graduate students, enrollment is under Southern University of Science and Technology. Enrollment management, training requirements, degree conferral, and other regulations follow Southern University of Science and Technology's guidelines. Students who meet Southern University of Science and Technology's graduation and degree application requirements will receive a Southern University of Science and Technology diploma and degree certificate.
For the 2025 cohort of jointly trained students, the training location is Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT), with full management handled by SUAT. Southern University of Science and Technology and SUAT provides course support. SUAT provides students with research projects and professional practical education, along with generous scholarships and financial aid, including but not limited to: Academic allowances, meal subsidies, commercial medical insurance, industry collaboration rewards, patent invention rewards, and various established special scholarships. Jointly trained students are not supported for master's-to-PhD transfers during their training period. They may apply for PhD programs at both universities as regular candidates. Jointly trained students, once admitted, are generally not allowed to change majors; candidates are advised to carefully review the details of each joint program major, considering their own circumstances before applying. Supervisors for jointly trained students will be confirmed through a mutual selection process from the list of relevant major supervisors before enrollment.
