Jin Lü, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor in Prof. Liwei Xie's group at the faculty of Synthetic Biology, Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology. He obtained his PhD from the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Metabolism, School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He completed postdoctoral training at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory and Hong Kong Baptist University. His research focuses on microbial chassis engineering, discovery of antibacterial and anti-tumor natural products, GPCR-targeted intestinal metabolites, and development of candidate antibodies for diabetes. His ongoing work centers on synthetic biology-enabled functional microbial development, including engineered probiotic chassis construction (living biotherapeutics) and microbial natural product discovery (anti-tumor, antibacterial, anti-obesity and hypoglycemic compounds). He aims to translate microbial resources into disease intervention and industrial applications. He has published multiple SCI papers in journals including Synth Syst Biotechnol, Front Microbiol, and Cell Chem Biol, and holds one authorized patent.

Research Areas

1.Engineeringof microbial chassis (including probiotics) for biomanufacturing and in-vivo intestinal applications

2.Discovery and application of antibacterial, anti-tumor, hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic natural products
